Encroachment Over Public Highway; Section 178 of the Highways Act 1980

In consideration of the grant to me/us of permission by Colas Ltd as Agents for the Highway Authority (Portsmouth City Council) under Section 178 of the Highways Act 1980 for the retention of type of operating equipment over the public highway at enter location in accordance with request submitted to Colas Ltd, I/We hereby undertake to indemnify Colas Ltd against all actions, proceedings, claims and demands whatsoever arising from the construction, erection, maintenance use or existence of the said operating equipment.

And I/We further undertake to back the said indemnity by a suitable policy of insurance and to produce the same to Colas Ltd on demand.
