Colas's investigation will take 10 working days to complete once the administration fee has been paid. After investigation, if you do not appoint your own contractor, we will send you an estimate of the cost of constructing the vehicular access. This will generally be sent to you within 28 days.
(Note: Planning permission is required if the crossing opens onto a Classified Road)
Light Duty – for light domestic use (suitable for cars, small vans, motorcycles, Mobility carriages.
Heavy Duty – industrial or constant use by all types of vehicle including HGV / LGV

Following recent changes to the planning regulations, in addition to our consent for a Vehicle Access you may need planning consent for your driveway/parking area. Guidance on this matter is given by the Environment Agency on the following website:

Alternatively you can consult the Planning Department at Portsmouth City Council. It is your responsibility to ensure that you comply with these requirements before any works are undertaken.
